Transgender prisoners in Queensland Correctional Facilities Introduction: Defined as a person whose biological gender does not conform to their self-identity, transgender people are a class of society that have been subject to severe vulnerability and discrimination over the years. Discrimination and vulnerability is especially apparent when a transgender individual has been incarcerated in a facility or institution.
