Most workers proceed to attempt to encourage themselves in work for the most part with the desire for better compensation; incidental advantages for example organization vehicles, annuities, etc. There are be that as it may, the individuals who show â€Å"highly spurred conduct where monetary prizes are low.†[1] This reference concurs with the above explanation, be that as it may, all through this paper I will summarize where pay can be viewed as a decent spark and where outward benefits fizzle. Content scholars, for example, Maslow and Herzberg take a gander at needs and what gives individuals the drive to work. A very old man with huge wings - Free Essay Example

Gabriel Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez is known throughout the world for his literary works, and especially his success with the magical realism style. This style creates a world where everything is mixed; the reality and the fantastic are together, and this strange world draws the reader inward. In the story A Very Old Man with Huge Wings by Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez, there are many elements of magical realism, but the purpose goes beyond just this. In the argument of this creative and fascinating story, there are comments on the world and on the second one there are many more levels of significance. Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez makes many comments on life and human nature. This analysis speaks of the human reception of the supernatural, examines the human character, and criticizes the church. In this story, an angel appears suddenly in the backyard of the house of Pelayo and Elisenda. Pelayo discovered it when he was killing crabs and throwing them in the sea because it had rained for three days. The angel was dressed like a ragpicker and was in a pitiful condition covered in mud (Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez 11). There were many talks in the town because the event was very curious, and nobody knew what to do with the angel. Some thought that the angel should be mayor of the world, while other people had bigger thoughts like creating a new, wiser race. Elisenda decided to charge five cents to see it, and people came from all over the world. Many people tried to provoke him, but the angel did not respond to the food or the much damage they cause. Pelayo and Elisenda received enough money to build a bigger house and take away the work. After some time, people abandoned him to see the girl turned into a spider. After this, for many years the angel lived there with the family unt il one day when he had more effort to go and fly. In the end, Elisenda felt relief because she thought of the angel as a hindrance in his life. You can already see many elements of magical realism in this story. Magical realism has the purpose of combining elements of realism and fantasy at the same time. From the first moment, the reader has to accept time that is not measured in a normal way. It is the third day of rain and the world was sad since Tuesday do not give a specific time or concrete (Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez 11). The story has an angel and a woman turned into a spider, and these main people are fantastic but also parts integrated and accepted in the story. Also, other people with strange foods are mentioned briefly, for example the girl counting the beats of her heart that no longer has numbers and the man tormented by the noise of the stars (Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez 15). In the end, the improvement in the health of the angel does not make sense because it has already passed many years without improvement, but one day already has effort. But these elements are juxtaposed with a people that appears normal with p eople who gossip, houses with gardens and chicken coops, children who attend school, curious people who like the strange, and poor people who need money. Garcà Ã‚ a Mà ¡rquez interweaves the realist and the fantastic to create a tale of magical realism. But this story is not only an example of magical realism, but also a commentary on the world today. What would you do if I had an angel in your yard? The first comment is of the human response to the supernatural, and in this the limits of human reason are seen. The reaction of Pelayo and Elisenda is to put him on a raft with food and water to send him out of his home because they cannot explain the existence of the angel. The absurd attempts to explain the angels appearance logically and to discover his raison detre demonstrate the limits of human reason (McMurray 118). A lot of the time, its human nature if you just like explainable and understandable things. But all of the angel is not explainable. There is never an explanation of his fallen or of his purpose or of his appearance or of his exit at the end of the story. Bell-Villada also talks about this, especially about how his presence does not fit into our ideas or stereotypes of angels. Rather than stereotypically young, heroic-looking, and blond, with sumptuous garments and wings all in white, Garcia Marquezs mysterious str anger is dressed in rags is nearly bald and toothless and has soiled buzzard wings strewn with parasites (Bell- Villada 137). It is clear that the angel is not natural in this place, because the doctor does not understand how the wings are so natural in his body or how he performs some miracles. But the human ones do not understand anything about the angel, and in addition they give preference to the girl turned into a spider because she has an understandable explanation. Unlike the old man, she talks about her affliction. Where the old man refused, she encourages responses There is nothing ambiguous or submerged about our perception of her (Gerlach 84). To the simple people of this town, he likes this girl. Although she has made a mistake and disobeyed her parents to become a spider, she likes the understandable explanation. While she receives the food she wants, people treat the angel like an animal or something without feeling or feeling. Gerlach says, similes used to describe him did not even grant him human attributes: matched with the villagers who stood around his cage he looked like a huge decrepit hen among fascinated chickens' and says that this is meant to diminish the splendor and greatness of the angel (82). In all of the treatment and guess of its existence or purpose, the people show the smallness of human reason, especially when you want to understand the supernatural.

Innovative Design on Biodegradable Products

Question: Discuss about the Innovative Design on Biodegradable Products. Answer: Biodegradable Products for an Eco Friendly Environment Environmental pollution has been the cause for alarm in this 21st century with fear of great and significant public health concerns that are harmful to the local citizen globally. Plastic bag pollution is one of the biggest danger to the environment currently,. It is estimated that every year approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used globally. In Australia alone, 3.92 billion bags are used and huge chunk are littered to the environment, Australia has been categorised as second producer of waste worldwide. The recycling of the bags has been hard to achieve considering their non-biodegradable nature. Our environment is constantly being contaminated by these effects thus affecting our health being. Chemical component of these plastics are the one making unsafe environment for living, (EAPSB, 2002). They realises toxic substances in two varied ways either through burning or throwing away the litter to the environment. They are source of various diseases and disorders affecting huma ns and pollute the air, which can harm the environment. They convey negative and dilapidating environmental impact to its inhabitants, (Eriksen et al., 2014). Various approaches have been used to help mitigate these effects of plastics. it entails the actions of discipline to water, air and soil so as to get safe environment for healthy living. Some of the efforts include initiating ban of use of plastic bag, usage of eco friendly bags which are biodegradable in the environment, reusing plastics in domestic usage. Recycling firms have taken initiative to receive the plastics and lastly the approach of not throwing plastic, (Australia, 2010). With huge significant impact of the effects of the plastic on the human health and environment at large theirs need to have solutions which are informed and appropriate in tackling the problem. Coming up with manufacture of biodegradable plastic from natural plant materials is an area which if exploited will yield positive outcome. With this innovative design of designing a biodegradable material, the usage of natural substance is paramount which dont contain chemical substance which harms the environment. The process will entail burning all biodegradable plastics then putting the mixture together in form of mould and shaped to various shapes. The opportunity available for this scenario is the manufacture of biodegradable plastics bags for use. This will help to ease the current state of pollution currently being observed worldwide. In the design of biodegradable material for the plastics, materials will be locally sourced. They include the plant materials such as, corn oil, orange peels, starch and plastics, (Chuayjuljit, Hosililak, Athisart, 2017)The traditional way f making plastics is by filling chemical substrates to the environment which melts the plastic. With coming up with innovative design, it can be utilised in food packaging, medical filed and agriculture through production of plastic sheaths. Thus biodegradable plastics in essence are interesting and exciting in that they have positive benefits on safeguarding our environment and the overall health well being of the citizens. Its benefits hence outweigh the emerging drawbacks that can be associated with its usage. References Australia, C. U. 2010. Systems Software Development Methodologiesâ€Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Systems Software Development Methodologies? Answer: Introduction The report will discuss in detail about various methodologies in information technology because it helps in gaining a better clarity about many advanced level technologies prevalent these days which are also crucial for the development of the methods along with system based development methods (Vijayasarathy and Butler, 2016). The study is based on finding the best form of platforms for the development of software methodologies. Three platforms that associate with focus technology Following is the detailed discussion of three platforms: - Adaptive Software Development: this platform is called as ASD and it is developed by J.A. Highsmith. The founder has provided a versatile along with an agile manner to address with quick and rapidly changing ventures of programs. It is usually not very simple to arrange everything in effective manner in the rapid changing business environment. However in this platform, a static kind of plan life cycle can be easily interchangeable with a more dynamic kind of life cycle (Matharu et al., 2015). Extreme program platform: this is also called as XP which usually ought to have a consumer on the location that determines and further sort the work for a group and in addition, it can also further answer different inquiries at whatever time they emerge. XP based platforms are also effective by nature since it focuses on loyalty of the customer. It further assist in providing the services along with needed on same time and date for the future usage and therefore this process further provide the software to the customer whenever it is needed (Moniruzzaman and Hossain, 2013). Scrum: this platform is considered as a increasing process for building up anything and also addressing any kind of work. The platform of Scrum aims on how subordinates focus to function to adapt with the ever changing environment. Features and benefits of each platform ASD Features: The main features of this platform are the culture created by the system is very adaptive by nature, highly focused and frequentative development. Benefits: Companies that are seen as adaptive by nature helps in getting on with any kind of emergency orders out of the diverse network of many interconnected human beings (Papadopoulos, 2015). Disadvantages: The platform of AD is also about the culture along with the concepts that software can easily practice. XP Features: this platform is primarily a client based development with in small period of time and it routine based building. Benefits: the developing upgrade of the system helps in increasing the implementation along with responsiveness to any kind of change (Pathak and Saha, 2013). Disadvantage: it is a single practice that is right for some features, a general level of approach and administrative practice is given less importance. Scrum Features: this framework is independent by nature along with self organizing methods and growth based teams with almost a month long release based cycles. Advantages: the framework helps in getting a change that exist from repeatable and featured kind of change with innovation and improvement related approaches. Disadvantages: the details of the framework is present within a specific guidelines on how to completely oversee the release for a month based cycle however the process of integration and acceptance evaluation are not very definite by nature (Gill et al., 2016). Industry segments The platforms for XP are set to deal with the problems associated with the work and with different level of dangers of any project. When a companys customers needs to another solution in the form of framework by specific time period the changes are high that the project will more likely breakdown. More and more commercial companies do move from declining projects and at the same time, expanding the overall returns and convention based program administration activities will be less to meet the need of the tests (Arango-Lpez et al., 2017). It is important to understand here that ASD actually based on complicated and versatile framework related hypotheses that are used to change the overall comprehension of the subjects like material science, level of advancement along with many financial features. The platform of XP is also designed specifically collaborated all the efforts that exist between the company and their clients. The platform of Scrum is used in the diverse industry segments when the meeting is mainly attended by the consumers, management and the team members where the goals and its operations are determined (Paternoster et al., 2014). Findings The platform of XP has also seen some advance level of challenges developed because of long improvement cycle based on conventional and advance models. The platform for XP process can be discussed by short amount of cycle for improvement, increased level of arrangement, continuous criticism, reliance on the correspondent and outline which is transformative by nature. With diverse kind of qualities, the XP framework reacts to modified environment with a huge deal of more courage (Paternoster et al., 2014). The platform of Scrum on the other hand needs any specific kind of programs with advance level of strategies and methods that can be used further. In addition, it also needs a specific level of methods used for management in so many cycles in order to avoid each kind of complexity and confusion. Recommendation Following are some of the important recommendations: - There is a constant requirement for delivering continuous first level of esteem for the cash. This is why for effective execution of new level of platform deliverable, it can be properly used. There is also a requirement to aim on dynamic level of consumer based investments (Paternoster et al., 2014). For effective execution, every process of LD requires collaborated properly. There is also a need to decide the process of innovation for execution Process of procurement XP: the platform is actually the light framework for the development of the system but also has some very unique features. The most crucial element is actually the capacity to be able to postpone the coding process. This is done until the actual experiment have been developed. The strategy of this platform uses different kinds of audits along with evaluation. There are specific times when computer program are used with this platform but not in usual practice. The very nature of the XP is based on system growth methods and it is also noteworthy goals with XP strategy (Dubois and Tamburrelli, 2013). The basic goal of this platform is to base the expenses of the program requirements. Reasons Following are the main reason for the selection of XP platform: - Metaphor: the single metaphor actually helps in developing and the software engineers can further foresee as when the project come out to be the actual future. Small releases: the platform used can be released rapidly with many rises that comes slowly with time. Collective possession: In the current platform of XP, any team member of the project can change the codes at any given time as long as the other steps are in finished stage. Standards for coding: there are numbers of formats along with style for coding that can be very similar to particular finished goals in order to empower all the members of the projects (Dubois and Tamburrelli, 2013). Process to determine procurement The platform of XP is an increasing stage along as frequentative process. The work is usually isolated into small functions that can bring an addition to the overall usefulness with purported discharge. This can be considered as a form of the arranged level of framework that based well. All the elements that are part of the discharge process are completely actualized (Yu, and Petter, 2014). The platform for XP also makes the constant level of releases by keeping in mind the finished goal to pick up any kind of criticism easily. Writers Craft Essay free essay sample

Thinking about the start to this portfolio, its kind of difficult to find a way to begin. We are supposed to describe our process, but its like trying to describe yourself to someone. Your mind draws a blank and you have no idea where to start. I guess if I were going to start somewhere, it would be the purpose for my writing in the first place. I write to get rid of stress that I dont need. Everybody has an outlet for stress. Some ways are less productive than others. Fortunately, my way of stress relief is very productive and also very relaxing. I just sit down and let my thoughts take over the paper. Before I know it, I have multiple pages of words that I never knew I had in the back of my mind. Something I feel strongly about is the easiest topic to write about. We will write a custom essay sample on Writers Craft Essay or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page I am going to be honest, it was hard writing some of these papers. I really struggled writing about paintings, nature, or the things you told us to write about during our timed writings in class. It was like trying to solve a puzzle with no correct answer. In fact, my family and I all struggled to figure out what exactly you wanted within the essays. In the beginning I struggled the most and didnt do very well. Toward the end of the trimester, I had my family help me through the paper and figure out at least somewhat of what you wanted in the essays. The memoir essay was by far the easiest essay to write. I reflected on the process I used throughout the writing of this essay. I started thinking about what I first wanted to write about. I could hear ideas buzzing through my head. I was thinking about writing about my relationship with my ex boyfriend, but I came to realize that recalling memories about that would be too painful to even think about. The memories still haunt me to this day. I decided to write about my history of concussions during the years I played hockey. Granted, I dont remember much about the last concussion that virtually ended my hockey career. My family helped me put the pieces together and it slowly came back to me. I could physically see myself in the hospital on those miserable nights. I can remember smelling the synthetic smell of the hospital and taste the medicine in the back of my throat. The entire process of my writing starts with the gathering of my thoughts into the particular category about the topic Im writing about. In this case, it would be the topic of concussions I endured during the few short years I was in hockey. In order to begin, I started thinking about all the memories I had from these incidents. I started with an outline in my head about how I was going to begin. After the outline is created, the first draft slowly made its way out of my head and onto the paper. After the first draft is created, I leave it for a day or two. I give my brain time to rest and recollect any thoughts I might have missed in the first draft. Within that time, we meet with our writing groups. They help me to fix any grammatical errors I may have made. When I get home that night, my mom and I sit down and go through what I have in my first draft and start constructing the second draft. First, I begin to fix all the grammatical errors I may have made in the first draft that my writing group pointed out. My mother and I sit down and begin to go through the draft and start expanding on some of the ideas that I left unexplained. The thoughts on the second draft are now complete, just in time for the due date. Throughout the period of my English class, we meet with our writing partners and start finalizing the thoughts we have. I think about how I can expand on anything and everything within the paper that I can throughout the course of the day. After I get home with my mom, again we sit down and go through the second draft. I incorporate all my similes and metaphors, along with the dialogue and use of a small paragraph for emphasis. I call my sister and make sure that she thinks the paper is good and has everything it should have. If I do, I finally have everything where it needs to be. I print out the final draft and the smell of the freshly printed paper gives me this sense of relief. The kind of relief that is only felt after a major task is fulfilled. This portfolio is the final project for this semester of College English. It’s the last chance we have to either make or break our grades. I have put in a lot of work into this project. My mother and my sister have both put in many hours helping me and without them, I wouldn’t be passing this class. Throughout the course of this class, I came to realize I wasn’t as good of a writer as I had thought. I know that it has been a rough start of my senior year, but my papers have increased in quality as time went by. As I go through this portfolio, I compare the first writing to the last. The writing style I have aquired is by no means the same. The flow is a lot smoother in the last paper compared to the first. To this day, I still struggle with what you want exactly in these essays, but hopefully this will be sufficient. Enjoy!

Animal Testing Essays (1458 words) - Animal Welfare, Free Essays

Animal Testing Essays (1458 words) - Animal Welfare, Free Essays Animal Testing Animal Testing Using animals for testing is wrong and should be banned. Twenty-four hours a day humans are using defenseless animals for cruel and most often useless tests because these animals have no way of fighting back and they are very cheap. They have to stop doing all that because these animals have right to live just as we do , there should be new laws to protect them , and they have to be careful because there is a day will come when they find that almost 50% of these animals in the hole world will get distinct . These legislations also need to be enforced more regularly. Although most labs are run by private companies, often experiments are conducted by public organizations. The US government, Army and Air force in particular, has designed and carried out many animal experiments. The purposed experiments were engineered so that many animals would suffer and die without any certainty that this suffering and death would save a single life, or benefit humans in anyway at all; but the same can be said for tens of thousands of other experiments performed in the US each year. Limiting it to just experiments done on beagles, the following might sock most people: For instance, at the Lovelace Foundation, Albuquerque and New Mexico, experimenters forced sixty-four beagles to inhale radioactive Strontium 90 as part of a Larger Fission Product Inhalation Program ,which began in 1961 and has been paid for by the US Atomic Energy Commission. In this experiment Twenty-five of the dogs eventually died. One of the deaths occurred during an epileptic seizure; another from a brain hemorrhage. Other dogs, before death, became feverish and anemic, lost their appetites, and had hemorrhages. The experimenters in their published report, compared their results with that of other experiments conducted at the University of Utah and the Argonne National Laboratory in which beagles were injected with Strontium 90. They concluded that the dose needed to produce early death in fifty percent of the sample group differed from test to test because the dogs injected with Strontium 90 retains more of the radioactive substance than dogs forced to inhale it , Also at the University of Rochester School Of Medicine a group of experimenters put fifty beagles in wooden boxes and irradiated them with different levels of radiation by x-rays. Twenty-one of the dogs died within the first two weeks. The experimenters determined the dose at which fifty percent of the animals will die with ninety-five percent confidence. The irritated dogs vomited, had diarrhea, and lost their appetites. Later, they hemorrhaged from the mouth, nose, and eyes. In their report, the experimenters compared their experiment to others of the same nature that each used around seven hundred dogs. The experimenters said that the injuries produced in their own experiment were Typical of those described for the dog (Singer 30). Similarly, experimenters for the US Food and Drug Administration gave thirty beagles and thirty pigs large amounts of Methoxychlor (a pesticide) in their food, seven days a week for six months in order to insure tissue damage . Within eight weeks, eleven dogs exhibited signs of abnormal behavior including nervousness, salivation, muscle spasms, and convolutions. Dogs in convultions breathed as rapidly as two hundred times a minute before they passed out from lack of oxygen. Upon recovery from an episode of convulsions and collapse, the dogs were uncoordinated, apparently blind, and any stimulus such as dropping a feeding pan, squirting water, or touching the animals initiated another convulsion. After further experimentation on an additional twenty beagles, the experimenters concluded that massive daily doses of Methoxychlor produce different effects in dogs from those produced in pigs. These three examples should be enough to show that the Air force beagle experiments were in no way exceptional. Note that all of these experiments, according to the experimenters own reports, obviously caused the animals to suffer considerably before dying. No steps were taken to prevent this suffering, even when it was clear that the radiation or poison had made the animals extremely sick. Also, these experiments are parts of series of similar experiments, repeated with only minor variations, that are being carried out all over the country. These experiments do not save

Political Typology Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words

Political Typology - Research Paper Example Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States and a democrat in practice (Gormley, p.205). He is the first African American President in the United States after practicing law and holding a senatorial position early that ushered him into the current political position he holds. Currently, his position represents democrats. The history that he has a civil rights attorney represents his position on promotion of peace and constitutionalism in all aspects of the American people (Michael & Schraufnagel, p.65). The development through the political ranks has had President Obama grow his support from the Democrats that yielded into a political victory that saw him elected president. Looking at the works of President Obama in office, there is a resonance of the democrat’s approach to management that seeks to establish peace rather than employing military approaches to safeguarding the country. The recent utterances on the attack over the terrorism incident in Paris allowing refugees to continue moving to the United States despite the terrorism fear have indicated the approach of Democrats more as peace loving people that do not depend on military approaches in supporting the development of the country’s political arena (Roberts & McCarthy). Foreign policy includes Obama’s approach to the war in Iraq by ending the war and any involvement of the United States in Iraq. Democrats advocate for peace by ensuring that all avenues that indicate to war are approached with a friendly approach.

Assignment - Essay Example Arbitration, collaborative and mediation are the three methods of alternative conflict resolution (Law info web). These methods are applied to settle various business conflicts depending on their suitability. Mediation involves the use of an independent mediator. The mediator mediates the different parties involved in the conflict by providing a solution that is appropriate to the concerned parties. The successful negotiations in 1997 between the World Bank and the mining sector serve as a good illustration of the usefulness of mediation as a method of dispute resolution. This case involved the World Bank and the mining industry with the delays in disbursement of funds being their main conflict. In this conflict, the Ukraine Mediation Group (UMG) acted as the mediator between the two parties. With UMG’s mediation, the two parties settled for the restructuring of the mining industry as a fundamental solution to their problem. Periodical disbursement of the disputed funds was also part of the solution. This case gives an example of how mediation can be applied to resolve business conflicts effectively. Arbitration is the second important method of alterative conflict resolution. In this method, parties involved in a conflict agree to do or not do something voluntarily (Jaffe and Stamato 16). Similar to mediation arbitration require the presence of an impartial party or person to stand between the parties involved in the conflict. Arbitration has often been regarded as the most appropriate method of resolving business conflicts in relation to the speed of finding a working solution. Unlike the previous form of conflict resolution, arbitrations may take place even before the actual conflict occurs. Signing of an employment contract is an example of arbitration between an employer and an employee. In this arbitration, the employer and the potential employee agree on their working condition and define their

Term Paper for Philosophy of Man Essay Example for Free

Term Paper for Philosophy of Man Essay There is no such thing as Christianity here on earth until an emperor named Constantine, a pagan, had a vision of a cross before his battle. Who knows if what he saw is true or what he saw is just a sword? (Sword has a resemblance with cross remember he’s up for a battle right? ) After his victory he was converted to Christian and planned to unite the Roman Empire by developing a religion under his control. He met all the religion leaders for a purpose: to unify everything. They have chosen only 4 out of 50 gospels that would only fit for the state religion. They should have given it authors- Constantine and friends, since they are the one who put it together. 300 yrs. after death of Jesus the Bible was put together by less faith more to politics. Many of these Gospels that are not included in the Bible apparently disappeared later because they have unknown origins. This uncertainty about their origins was one reason many of them were excluded from the Bible. But some of them were also excluded because they expressed unorthodox views. Somehow the copies of some of them still survive at unknown locations. Luckily several have been found again. The Gospel of Peter, Mary, Judas and St.  Thomas were discovered in modern times named after peter, Mary Magdalene, Judas Escariot, and St. Thomas but those weren’t their real authors, the real authors are unknown and will probably never be identified. The gospel of Peter, the first lost gospel found (1886), contains the description of Jesus leaving the tomb after his resurrection seen by the two guards while in the New Testament the effect of the resurrection was only written. The Gospel of Mary emphasizes her prominence by presenting her as a strong leader, and by suggesting that she was the most favored disciple of Jesus and received a special revelation from him. The gospel contains Gnostic ideas, particularly in the section which describes the revelations she received from Jesus. This connection with Gnosticism, together with the prominent role that the book gives to a female, may have led to its suppression by orthodox Christians. The Gospel of St. Thomas may preserve some authentic teachings of Jesus that are not found in the Bible. The Gospel of Judas said that Judas was the most loyal disciple of Jesus where in our bible contradicts, which says that Judas is the one who gave up Jesus in exchange of gold. Did the church intentionally destroyed some books in order to cover up embarrasses facts about the origins of Christianity? The knowledge about the bible they are holding until know is not probably the truth, it is more on their beliefs. No one has ever proven that all written in the bible is true from Old Testament to New Testament even the genesis is questionable. It is that, we are on it for over a thousand years and will have a difficulty to adjust or understand if any will be changed because of the found lost gospels.

Essay --

The question of euthanasia is one that has plagued the human sense of morale for centuries. With modern medical technology it becomes even more pressing. I will cover three aspects of Euthanasia including three principles for, three principles against, and my own conclusion as to why Euthanasia is morally justified. To clarify some of the terms involved; Euthanasia is derived from the Greek language: Euthos, meaning easy, and thanos, meaning dying. Voluntary Euthanasia is a medically assisted, peaceful death at the request of the patient. There is also active and passive euthanasia. Active being euthanasia at the request of a relative and passive euthanasia is withholding treatment at the request of the patient. There have been many arguments for euthanasia and most can be surmised into three principles. One is that individuals should have the right to make their own choices in personal issues such as death. Not respecting one’s wish for a quiet and peaceful death disrespect s one’s autonomy. It does so in such a way that to deny the right to make their own decision is like telling them they do not have the capacity to make a rational decision. If one does not have rational thought than one is like an animal with no concept of death. If one is thought to be like an animal then what harm is there in â€Å"putting them to sleep†? As people we constantly put down loved pets to end their suffering. Telling someone who only wishes for a peaceful death that they may not have such a mercy completely defies autonomy. Individuals’ right to make their own decision is not only an ethical right that all people have, but it is also protected by the United States Constitution as a part of the Right to Privacy. Death, it would seem to me, constitut... ...eat gift to ease one's pain and a great show of compassion to that person as well. Individuals have the right to choose. Denying a person their right to choose life or death, to me, is intrinsically wrong. As stated previously, death is a very personal issue and if life is no longer worth living than who are we to force unwanted life upon someone? We have a right to make private decisions and that includes the decision to die. There is nothing wrong with wanting to die peacefully to end suffering quicker than a natural death might have allowed. Euthanasia is clearly a mercy for those who suffer immensely through disease. Euthanasia should be an option for those that want it. It is obvious that many will still have objections and many will not make such a choice, but if they so choose, a quick and easy death awaits. I personally am not against euthanasia.

Character Analysis of Scout

Jean Louise Finch, or Scout, is the novel's narrator and principal character. She is a unique and remarkable character who does not quite fit in, or do what is expected of young girls in 1930s Alabama. Readers will note that Scout at the end of the novel is very different from Scout at the beginning and this is because she has developed so much as a character. At the start of the novel, she is a determined, spirited tomboy; she loves wearing trousers. She spends most of her time with Jem, her brother and Dill, her friend who visits every summer. She can't bear to be reminded that she is a girl and she is often excluded from the boys' games because she is a girl. At times, being a girl makes her very lonely- she has no mother, sisters or female friends her own age. She tries to solve all problems by fighting and it takes her a long time to follow her father's advice and learn to fight with her head instead of her fists. Her bad temper is possibly her greatest flaw. She also stands out from the crowd because she is very clever. She can read the newspaper before she starts school and she can't even remember when started to read. Her knowledge of law is remarkable for her age. She is also outspoken, and this gets her into trouble with Miss Caroline on her first day at school. She is stubborn and strong-willed, and this means she clashes with people who have authority over her- Calpurnia, Miss Caroline, Aunt Alexandra. she does not disobey her father, but she certainly challenges him and tries to get around him. However, Atticus always gets around her in the end. Scout grows and develops immensely in the course of the novel.Early in the novel, she believes all the rumors that she hears around Maycomb and picks up many of Maycomb's attitudes- Boo is a phantom, Mr Dolphus Raymond is evil, black people are only ‘niggers' and Atticus should not defend them. She also learns to become more accepting of her femininity. For some, it may seem that she gives into Aunt Ale xandra's pressure to be a lady. In the final chapter, we see that the rebellious little tomboy who fights with her fists has made way for a thoughtful, wise, mature and experienced young lady.
